Questions

Days pass by like clouds in a summer sky
I look at the sun through the crack in my fingers
With unmoving clarity, it beams back at me
Day after day after day.

When a life’s journey is coming to an end,
One has to wonder, if the sun is just mocking us
Immortal, un-blemished
It dries the blood and pales the bones over its seasons.

When many moons and suns have passed with their shadows across my home,
I will remember this time, when a life ebbed away in front of me
Maybe it’ll be my time to die
And stop wishing upon these foolish, unfaithful stars.
